I am trying to install VMWare and in the Konsole it tells me to enter Super Mode, I type in su and enter my root password and it tells me Authenticiation Incorrect. Sorry!

Simply because there is no root account, therefore, no root password. The administrative password is the password of your first user.
In Kubuntu, we use "sudo command" instead of logging into a root account.
