Upgrading to 64 bit. Will i meet any problems on the road?

I'm doing a full hardware upgrade on my computer. I will now use a 64bit CPU so I guess I have to download the 64bits Kubuntu release.
Now whats worries me is if I will run into software problems due to that not all softwares exsist in a 64bit version and some of the softwares are in "beta" stage (don't know if the last thing is true, im just throwing out things that I curious about).
Oh and at last, will there be any system improvements now that I will use a 64bit CPU?

I don't know about improvements, but I ran into incompatibilities with software. Mailwasher Pro (for which I have a license) would not install. There were a couple of other problems that led me to downgrade to the i386 version of Kubuntu.

Ok, looks like I should wait awhile then. Thanks for the info.

          Hi,

Since I have my X2 system, I'm running dapper in 64bits version and it's working nice...
          I'm just missing flash support

Maybe just give it a try before to give up

          Cheers
