Kubuntu + Compiz = Settings Reset?

I installed Kubuntu and Compiz using the following guide :

However, the options I set through gconf-editor or gnome-keyboard-properties reset every time I log off. Is this a commonly known problem? Is there a fix?

I guess, you should better contact this guy or look on a forum about compiz. Anyway I hope someone will be able to answer you.
