Um... the version number is actually 6.06. It means that it was released in 2006 (the first 6) June (the 06). It's not like your usual version numbers that go 6.06 to 6.07, etc.
The next version to be released is code named Edgy Eft, which is version 6.10 (2006 October). It's n development right now. -

I think I asked the wrong question.
I should have said when will. or are the existing patches to KDE 3.5.3 available in the Kubuntu repositries.
