    Partimage

    I would like to backup my files on an external (sda) usb drive. I think partimage will accomplish a disk/partition clone. I see that its downloadable from one of the repos but can't get it on the kmenu ( or use it) after download. Does anyone have detailed instruction on how to use it? Is Keep good for anything as part of KDE 3.5.2/3 neither have documentation on its use.

      Re: Partimage

      There's a MUCH easier way to use partimage... just D/L and boot the following iso;

      It's updated regularly and you can use partimage directly. I boot mine off a flash (aka jump, thumb) drive and it only takes about 20 sec to boot

          Yes it is. I would like to also add that I've used it for disaster recovery backup of my root partitions for several years now... and had to restore them a few times so I KNOW it really works

          I think it's recommended to only use on an unmounted partition, so that's why I use it from RIP.
