can't reduce icon size when logged in as root

B4 I get started I know the cataclysmic, end of days implications of using my box as root!! i am of sound mind and body and believe that I have to break it a few times to appreciate it

With that said does anyone know why I can not reduce the size of my desktop icons when logged in as root?

You don't have to flat out tell me - but please put me on the right track!!

    Thanks in advance.

    ditto:

I don't think that you have to log in as root to change icon sizes on the desktop.

If somebody knows how to make the icons on the desktop smaller please tell.

    They look like battleships.

Try SystemSettings>Appearance>Icons>Advanced and set the icon size for Desktop

This was a KDE issue. I was using 3.5.2 and logged in as root, and my icons looked like traffic signs! When I upgraded to KDE 3.5.3 all was well!
