AIGLX Under Kubuntu and not Ubuntu

    The problem is, basically:
I can't get XGL run on my PC with an ATI Radeon X700. With the latest version of Kubuntu dapper. Using Linspire I was previously able to run XGL because there was an automatic installer.

I followed every single tutorial and guide found in this, compiz and other forums but the conclusion is allways the same: instead of the login, after reboot, I get a blòack screen with the mouse looking like a watch forever. I can move the mouse but nothing else. I even tryed a xgl-kubuntu auto package .deb but nothing happened different from black. So the problem is in the Xgl_server I guess.

I then thought to try Aiglx. But there's an how to run it in gnome in the Ubuntu forums, nothing more. An user asked in that forum how to make it run in kde too and nobody answered, they pratically ignored him and asked many other different questions. You can easily find the link googoling aiglx ubuntu how to.

So my problem is: that guide is referred to GNOME! I don't whant gnome. How can I make aiglx run on kde? Anyone tryed it out? Guess the question is how do I make kde run on aiglx Well, you do the rest if anyone is able to Let me know!

Re: AIGLX Under Kubuntu and not Ubuntu

Hi as you seem to have had no replies maybe the following will help. I run an ATI graphics card using the ATI driver fglrx and that works fine. Here is a link on how to download and install it.
