    KDE Menu Search

My SuSE box at home has a neat feature that I can't seem to turn on in Kubuntu. In the K menu, there is a box that you can type in and it greys out menu options that don't match. For example, if you type xterm, then only the System submenu is highlighted so you know where the shortcut for xterm is.

Anyone know how to turn this on in Kubuntu. Certainly it must be a KDE feature and not just a SuSE feature.

I'm sure it's a SUSE only feature. I haven't personally used SUSE yet, but so far I have not seen such a feature in other KDE distros.

Of course, if you could post a screenshot, maybe we could some further investigating.

I recently switched my SuSE box to Kubuntu after wasting a day trying to upgrade the damn thing from 10.0 to 10.1. Should be a piece of cake right - not in the #$^*ing SuSE world.

Anyway, I found KDE applet called Tasty Menu that has the feature, but crashes Kicker every so often. I've also recently discovered Katapult, which is better, IMHO, than the search feature anyway. I recommend looking into Tasty Menu.

I did find some evidence on the net that indicates it is a custom SuSE feature.
