Cannot find parent item file:///home in the tree. Internal error.

When I open Konqueror to browse my local filesystem I always get this error:

Cannot find parent item file:///home in the tree. Internal error.

I didn't used to get it and a recent update broke it - any ideas what it is or how to fix it?

    Thanks

      1) How are you opening Konq?
      2) Are you using the sidebar directory tree (F9, then click on red folder) to navigate?
      3) Do you type in the 3 slashes? What happens if you leave out one or two?

Mine does this too--I think it has something to do with the system: ioslave. I recently moved from Mandriva to Kubuntu, and it didn't do this under the old system, but does now. I backed up my .kde/ directory and did an experiment with a virgin login, and the problem went away. I'd have gone with that solution, but I didn't relish the idea of having to re-set all my settings. I've been doing a half hearted investigation, and if I find anything, I'll drop a line.

I vaguely remember encountering a slightly similar problem before. I think upgrading to KDE 3.5.3 solved it.
