    Mencoder GUI - Reccomendations

    Hi All.

    Wondering what people are using for a front-end to mencoder on Kubuntu. A quick look around has turned up the following candidates:

    KVideoEncoder
    dvd::rip
    DVD Rip-O Matic (This may actually use transcode instead of mencoder)

    Anybody have any opinions on these apps ? Any gems I might have missed ?

    Thanks.

    Re: Mencoder GUI - Reccomendations

    Looks like none of the apps I listed have a Kub package available. My assumptions kicking in again

    I found them on http://kde-apps.org/

    Looks like AcidRip is my only option if I want to stick with Adept/Repo's.

    So, anybody using AcidRip ? Any advice ?

      I can't offer a solution but I can second your frustration here.   I have tried to install several GUI front ends to mencoder with no luck at all.   ACIDRIP and DVDRIP installed for me, but I can't use them --> they can't open the media for some strange reason.  Anyway, there is tons of examples of mencoder scripts out there - check google.  When you search KDE applications, there are several listed encoders in KDE.   How and or who gets to move them to the kubuntu repositiories?   How do we put in requests to have these multimedia applications added --they do exist
