    K3b problem as User

I went to burn a CD using K3b and found that it failed with an error message of "CDRecord has no permissions to open device(CDRW drive)". I solved this by adding the group sudo to my user. Now, it appears that I do not need to enter the root password in order to access functions that previously needed a password. Is this not a security risk, and if so, how do I get round the K3b burning problem?

run k3b setup (Settings>K3bSetup) or edit permissions by hand. It's a classical issue.
See attached pic. cdrecord and other files should have root permissions.

K3bsetup will suggest the modifs all u have to do is "apply"

My CDRecord permissions are exactly the same as yours, yet if I don't have sudo as one of my User groups, I can't record!

I have this same issue (only happens sometimes!)......I work around the issue by running K3b as root.

Open up Konsole and type "kdesu k3b" ..... it will prompt for root password. Enter the password and then K3b should work fine.
