KDE system guard is totally grey

Hey folks, this is my first question to you here since moving to this fine distribution from suse. I don't know how I managed to do it, but when I want to check up on the processes running and launch KDE System Guard it comes up completely grey. The: File, Edit, Settings, Help menu is there but that is it. Have any of you had this problem and do any of you know how to correct it?

Also, is there a way to launch it with super user priviledges?

    Thanks,
    Erik.

Perhaps there are too many processes running and it is just taking it's time showing you what's running.

When I search for a file across the entire partition the window is exactly as you described the Ksysguard window. Takes forever, or just stops.
