Process error on system start/login

Every time I reboot or restart the system or even just log out and back in, I get the following dialog/error:

"The process for the system protocol died unexpectedly."

I just click the OK button and go about my business. Has anyone seen this error before and if so, what do I do to fix it? What's causing it?

Any info. greatly appreciated!
