I find Dapper slow to load, as long as 5 mintes, slow in all operations.
I compared it with Mandriva 2006, in another partition, which loads in 1 minute and operates at a very acceptable level.
Mandriva has a kernel optimised for 1G of memory, otherwise the systems seem similar.
The machine is a Pentium 4 with a 160g hard disk and 1G of memory.
Any suggestions as to things I might try?
