Book / CD Database

I have a collection of CD's and I have a library of books.

I wish to keep a separate database for both supported by bar code scanner. Needs to support on-line lookup to minimize data entry.

May I ask if anyone has any suggestions of packages?

Try Tellico. It was set up just for such things as book and CD collections. I use it with a barcode scanner to scan the ISBN of books. There is no magic to the database supporting barcodes as the scanner is seen as keyboard input by the computer.
