    Firefox Issues

I installed Firefox from the repo a while ago removing my custom install that I had been running since Hoary. (The custom install was created following the instructions from the ubuntu wiki.) Since then it seems like I can't get any audio with Flash applets. I'm running Dapper with KDE-3.5.2 and Firefox-1.5.0.4. Also I'm having other random glitches with Firefox flash applets where they remain painted on screen as I switch tabs and cover up parts of other web pages. Can somebody help?

    For audio, maybe try this?
    Code:
    sudo aptitude update
    sudo aptitude install alsa-oss
    You'll have to restart Firefox.

For the weird other stuff, try this.

      aiysu,

Thanx alot! My sound is fixed. That really worked. How'd you know exactly what was wrong? Anyhow, for some reason the other Firefox issue (with Flash applets remaining painted) isn't happening right now. I'll keep an eye out and start anew if I need to thanx!

This may sound strange, but I did a search on the Ubuntu Forums.
