Open Office kills my system!!!!

Hi all. I have an AMD 64 desktop. Asus mainboard, 1 gig ram, samsung sata 120 gig HD, Nvidia 5700le video card. Just installed Kunbuntu dapper 64, install went perfect everything working except open office. When I select Writer then new, wizard, everything freezes exept the mouse pointer. Can't even select another desktop, the only way to restart the system is from the power button.  >
Has anyone else had this problem, or could someone suggest a cure?

I'm using dapper 64bits and open office is working well. I'm using version 2.0.2.
Can you tell what is the version you're using ?
