Google Earth

Hey everybody,

I am kind of a new-b myself, but I tried installing GoogleEarthLinux.bin, and it gets so far and says that Google earth requires x11. Any ideas?

Is the extact message you get this:

You don't see to be running an X server (no DISPLAY set).
Google Earth and its installer both require X11.

?

If so it sounds like you are trying to run the installer from a Console (text only) login. You need to run the install from a prompt in Konsole whlist you are logged in with a graphical session.

thanks for the quick response.

I was trying to install it as root. I then realized that is where I was going wrong. I installed it from a regular konsole and it went right through.
I really appreciate your repsonse.
