    Gaim

So I want to be able to use all the different flavors of ubuntu right..kubuntu...xubuntu...etc... But most of those depend on having gaim 1.5 installed, but I need to use gaim 2 beta 3 so that my filetransfer works. So I installed gaim 2 and everything worked untill I tried to install other desktops. If I try to install other desktops they install gaim as a dependency. The weird thing is that in the command line, if I type in gaim then it runs gaim 2 beta 3 but if I make a shortcut that has "gaim" as its command it runs gaim 1.5 ?? Im alright with gaim 1.5 being on my system as long as I have an easy way to not use it and use the beta instead. Essentially how do I create a shortcut that opens gaim 2 instead of 1.5?

    Re: Gaim

Ah well, once again I solved it myself..I really should stop posting. Ah well the solution was to just put the full command as the shortcuts command. So instead of "gaim" it is "/usr/local/bin/gaim" and that works :-)
