gnubg (gnu backgammon) - updating ???

The version that I got from the universe repo is really old, and while I can configure the actual board, there seems to be no way of getting an updated version via the package manager.

I've got the one from the gnubg site, but how to install it without dependency problems etc (it's .deb format)
