Hi
I have a fresh install of Kubuntu.
I have turned transpaerncy on.
I have added a whole bunch of photos (each less that 100k) to be the background, which swops every 5 minutes.
All desktops (I have 6 of them) have the same background.
As soon as the background changes, my pc becomes very slow, only after about 30 seconds, does it return to normal.
I have also noticed is that when I change to another desktop (I have 6 of them), it becomes slow again. The main window sems to show the new background, but in my xterm seems to have the old image in it , then after a few seconds it updates.
Usually only a couple of xterms open, firefox and evolution.
Any ideas?
My Pc is a dell , 2.8ghz with 1 gig ram
I used to have the same backgrounds rotating on my pc, using Mandriva 10.2.
It ran KDE, and worked fine.
cheers
Andy
