    dvd-video playback

    hi

I've just installed kubuntu dapper 64 on my computer cause I have a pentium 4D so it works pretty well

but i've got a problem with dvd playback. I tried to play a dvd after installing and it worked perfectly but yesterday I tried to read another one which didn't work.

kaffeine tells me that either I don't have the rights to play or there is no dvd in the player and vlc doesn't read it at all

I found on google that it sometimes happened with protected dvd but I have found no answer telling how I could read it

so if someone knows how to do it it would be great
I have installed the libdvd libraries I could find but it didn't work better

    thanks
    arno

    Re: dvd-video playback

Please look at this wiki page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats Notice especially, the part about not being able to change the region code more than 4 times without losing the ability to play DVDs at all.
