    vimpart??

    Hi
When I first switched to kde from gnome it was on to kubuntu on breezy. funny how 'little' petty things are often what win you over, for me it was some feature that let me use vi keystrokes to search the kde menu - when I upgraded to dapper, that vi feature vanished - I think it was called 'vimpart' - but it remains uninstallable due to a dependency on an unavailable package: kde 4:3.4.3-0ubuntu2.

Any idea how I can get this great feature back?

    thx

    Re: vimpart??

I am not sure but IIRC vimpart was a crude KDE part generated from gvim, which was a crude GTK front-end for the vim application. it was very crude, very buggy and it rarely worked right.

Right now I believe that gvim already dropped. On the other hand, there is a VIM-like text editor project which is being led by the good folks that brought us gvim. Unfortunately I do not remember that project's name (it doesn't have a VI in the name, though) but I believe that a beta version was already released. When I stumble again on that project I'll let you know.

Still, I do not believe that it has anything to do with your problem. Sorry
