    Firefox and Kmplayer help

I've tried so many times to get a kmplayer plug in to work with FF so I can listen/view windows media files but I'm striking out badly. Any success in doing this and can you give me some advice?

    I cheated...

    sudo apt-get install mozilla-mplayer

as this installs the latest firefox w/ mplayer plugins...if this isn't what you want, you need to find the following files:

    mplayerplug-in-gmp.xpt
    mplayerplug-in-rm.so
    mplayerplug-in-wmp.so
    mplayerplug-in-qt.so
    mplayerplug-in-rm.xpt
    mplayerplug-in-wmp.xpt
    mplayerplug-in-gmp.so
    mplayerplug-in-qt.xpt
    mplayerplug-in.so
    mplayerplug-in.xpt

    cd /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
    sudo cp /directory_where_plugins_exist/mplayerplug* .

    restart firefox

Tried the apt-get and got the following
      Code:
Package mozilla-mplayer is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package mozilla-mplayer has no installation candidate

        Re: Firefox and Kmplayer help

Well I finally got the plug ins loaded by removing kmplayer, then installing mplayer and then plugger. Now the RealPlayer audio files will play but they skip badly. I set it to buffer the whole clip but it didn't make a difference.

It starts the audio file find for about a second then skips right over it. Almost sounds like a skipping CD but it's not stuck, just blows through the whole audio file. Any ideas?
