    Latest Kaffeine package?

Can someone point me in the right direction for a repository for Kaffeine 0.8.1, the lastest seems to be for 0.7.1.

    thanks Bec

AFAIK, there's currently no repository yet for Kaffeine 0.8. I think you have to compile from source. Any reason why you need an updated version?

I must warn you, though, that it might cause some dependency problems later on. I suggest, if you compile from source, to install it in /usr/local rather than just /usr/bin, so it won't create a conflict with the existing Kaffeine version.

I was also looking for the latest kaffeine player.... bad luck that only version 0.7 is in the repo and i don't want to compile 0.8 and break any thing

Quite a repository list you got there

When it comes to repositories more is not always better, though. If you use a myriad of repositories you might run into dependency problems later on.

Also it can be hard to know whether all repositories can be deemed 'trustworthy'.

Usually you can get by with:

          1. The local mirror of the official Ubuntu repos (with Universe and Multiverse enabled)
          2. The Kubuntu.org 'latest' repos (kde, koffice, amarok)
          3. A Penguin Liberation Front mirror (PLF)
(As PLF mirrors seem to be down quite often so you may wish to add another as a backup)

Then you can add repositories based on your specifical needs for software
(like the canonical commercial, wine, games etc)

You can also comment the deb-src repositories if you don't compile the software from source, this will cut down the update fetching time in nearly half.
