    Some webpages not showing up

I have a Jaht 2104G router and run 3 machines through that router, two with WinXP one with Kubuntu. Recently I've had a funny problem: some webpages didn't show up at all. On my two WinXP machines this problem was solved by lowering the security level to medium in ZoneAlarm, the firewall.

I tried to look at some ways to do this on the Kubuntu machine too, but I couldn't find anything. In the system settings there is nothing about firewalls.

My newbie question is: is there a firewall installed on Kubuntu by default? How can I make changes to its settings?

    Has anyone got any ideas?

(PS I think there's still an issue with my router somewhere, but in a way the two xp machines work fine now)

Re: Some webpages not showing up

Kubuntu doesn't install a firewall by default, so no worries there.
There are many reasons why a page might not display in Linux. One reason might be that the web page is using Macromedia Shockwave. Unfortunately, there's no Linux version for a shockwave player, and you probably need to install Wine to have it.

What is the website anyway? Maybe I could check if it's loading here properly.

Thanks for your info. This page doesn't need Shockwave, it's a simple html site. I knew that this site was ok because when I hooked my cable modem directly to one of the computers it worked perfectly, the page loaded. With the router I got nothing, so I thought I had a problem in the router. With the firewall settings changed, on the winxp computers I could load the page on xp, but still not on Kubuntu.

The funny thing is that right now the page loaded on Kubuntu too. So my problem is solved.

(PS the web site mentioned was http://ak.tx.hu, an add-on site for bve train simulator)
