I have added Chinese in Language Support, run skim, configured, enabled chinese input method, but it just didn't work. I pressed Ctrl+Space, Ctrl+Alt+Up/Down/Right, just nothing happened and everything is still in English.

Mine is working, here is my config in Configure skim - SKIM:
Under Frontend > General SCIM > Other
Panel Program select scim-panel-kde
Config Module select kconfig
Under Frontend > X Window
check on Start skim automatically when KDE start
check on On the spot in XIM settings
That should do, to play safe, you could add a hot key on one of the input method in IMEngines > Global Setup select one of the Chinese input method and click the edit hot key button.
Remember to log out and log in to restart the KDE desktop.

worked in kopete, thanks, i just have to right click and select scim instead of xim in input method.
however not working in firefox.....
