Power saving, can't change

Under System Settings/Display/Power Saving, Enable power saving is turned on and set to switch off the monitor after 30 minutes.

I have tried to disable power saving or change the time that the monitor turns off, but to no affect. I have tried in regular and Administrator Mode. It lets me make the change but when I go back and look at it nothing has changed.

Any ideas?

I think it's a possible bug, that might also be related to a screensaver bug that's going around.

I'm experiencing it, too, and so far, no fix yet.

Same problem here. Also on the Slide Show Screen Saver, I get a black screen after the third or forth picture.

Weird. I think rebooting has made changes in Power Saving stick. I disabled Power Savings, then rebooted. Now it stays disabled. Maybe just logging out doesn't work?
