Amarok restarts when quitting

Amarok is acting weird. Whenever I quit it (Quit from the menu, Alt+Q, or quit from the system tray), it closes then restarts with the volume cranked down to zero/mute. And it keeps on doing this as long as I don't close Amarok in mute mode.

This didn't happen to me in Breezy, nor did it happen (I think) when I upgraded to Dapper. It's only happening now on a fresh install.

Using Amarok 1.4. Any ideas?

try sudo apt-get remove --purge amarokapp && sudo apt-get install amarok

If that doesn't work try

killall amarokapp

removing amarok and reinstalling it again did the trick. thanks!

But that was really weird...
