Re: konqueror crash
Well, if you type 'cbsnews.com' in konqueror's location bar, the URL will magically appear...
I suspect the problem is related to the way konqueror is (mis)handling some multimedia on that site. Opening the homepage spawns the following error:
xine: couldn't find demux for >http://www.cbsnews.com/common/vplaye...2.42848281396<
input_http: content length = 17162 bytes
xine: found input plugin : http input plugin
A page load or two after that, konqueror crashes. Not once in a while, but every single time.

Re: konqueror crash
Konq crashed there for me, too. I'm gong to conjecture (based on a look at the site with Firefox) that the problem is caused by a flash file that wants to play when you open the site. Check out this Wiki page for information about getting a flash plugin. There is a special statement to the effect that Konqueror doesn't detect flash together with a workaround.

Re: konqueror crash
There are websites that make Konqueror crash. I guess this is one of them. Another one is www.freewebs.com, at least when you login.
I'll try checking out the wiki to see if the workaround works.

Re: konqueror crash
I don't think it's flash. Flash works o.k. I believe javascript is attempting to open multimedia content associated w/ xine. Disabling javascript for cbsnews.com seems to prevent konqueror from crashing. An annoying error dialog still pops up, but at least the browser stays up. More elegant solutions welcome..
