    Application menu re-creation

I messed up with some files and the application menu is now empty, is there any way to bring it back, can I download the default menu somewhere, or can it be re-created automatically ?

Sorry, it's way too late to help you. But in case it helps others. Here is what worked for me:

    Code:
     sudo mv ~/.kde/share/applnk ~/.kde/share/applnk.backup
    Reference:

      Maybe these help:

      KDE Menu
      http://docs.kde.org/userguide/kde-menu.html

      KSycoca
KSycoca caches menu structure and information about all available applications. You can rebuild the database with kbuildsycoca.

      Kappfinder
      non-KDE application finder for KDE
kappfinder searches your workstation for many common applications and
      creates menu entries for them.
      Before you edit, BACKUP !
