    Administrative passwords not accepted

Whenever I try to add a printer, or use adept package manager, or any app that requires me to supply the current user password, it rejects it. I've tried the root password with no avail, and yes the passwords are correct. What is going on, any suggestions?

    chimney,

I had this symptom too, and when this happened to me, I had to reinstall to get the password to work again. I know that is drastic, but it was time to upgrade anyway...

I do not know what causes it...

One thing you can try is go to the recovery console (from boot menu) and change your user password with 'passwd <USERNAME>'

Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a shot when I get the laptop back. BTW Does anyone know where I can (if it exists) download Kubuntu for Core Duo?
