kicker problems

I've recently (yesterday) rebuilt my system with the release version of Kubuntu 6.06, and I have a frustrating problem.

Periodically, and I can't tie it down to a certain set of cirumstances, the kicker will just vanish. When I restart it from an xterm with "kicker &" O get the following;

But kicker then runs for a while, sometimes until I log off. It will also sometimes shut down but leave an "image" of itself on the screen (i.e. become unresponsive), while everything else continues working.

Seems to happen mainly when I'm in konversation and konqueror, but not always.

Anyone else seen this behaviour ?

I haven't had any problems with Kicker myself. I don't use konversation, so maybe it's related to that.
