K3b error "Source disk is empty"?

    Hi all

I've been trying for a few days now to write an audio CD with K3b (got a bit stuck trying to find "normalize" in K3b) and I am on the brink of writing this cd, however.....

When I tell K3b to write the CD it fails and gives me an error saying "The source disk is empty"
What gives? The disk is MEANT to be empty. Do I have to prepare the disk for writing in some way, or am I doing something wrong somewhere? I did my first ever compile of normalize, but i doubt I broke something with that. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT : This is due in part to my own stubbornness. I REFUSED to run K3b as root because I felt this should not be necessary. To test things I tried it and it works, so it looks like a permissions issue. I will update this post as soon as I know why this happens.
