i have also a problem with the k8 - kernel. i get no 3d - support. my xorg.log says that it couldn't load the fglrxdrm - driver.

maybe this is a related problem?

    thanks for your help

Re: K-7 kernel broken Dapper K-7 pre

        Hi

I got the same thing after upgrading to the K7 r23 kernel. I could not get X started, it complained about the driver. I got it started after going back to the nv driver instead of nvidia, but it seemed......well, dodgy. I cannot remember off the top what the issues were, but it might also be my own ignorance. It's the first time I tried running a different kernel, so there may be other things I may need to update, I haven't had an in-depth look at it. Will try again during the week. If anyone cares to save me some time and make suggestions / give hints, it will be gladly accepted.

I'm very new at this, so I might be missing something obvious to regular users.
