Problem with Walk Through Desktops in KDE

Hi!

I just switched from Gentoo to Kubuntu. In Gentoo (using KDE 3.5.2) I used Win+Tab to "Walk Through Desktops" and I saw the Name and the Apps running on that Desktop when I hit that key. In Kubuntu (also KDE 3.5.2) I also configured Win+Tab that way but I don't see the Names and the Apps of my Desktops. Any Ideas?

Thanx,

there are two different ways to change desktops. one is "walk through" and one is something like swith to next, swith to previous. i don't have access to my kubuntu machine right now but the two behave differently. perhaps you're using one when you think you're using the other.

If this is what you're looking for:

KControl/System Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts > Global Shortcuts tab > Navigation group > Walk Through Desktops List.

But it only lists the Desktop names, followed by icons of the apps running in each desktop. If that's not it, then I have no idea.

I used Win+Tab to "Walk Through Desktops" and I saw the Name and the Apps running on that Desktop when I hit that key.
The only place where I see the name of the apps is the window list:

KControl/System Settings > Regional&Accessibility > Keyboard Shortcuts > Global Shortcuts tab > Desktop group > Show Window List

(But that's not exactly walkthrough so I doubt that is what you mean)

On a 'related' issue there seems to be 2 entries (4 if you count the 'reverses')...for the function Jucato took a snapshot of:
1. Walk Through Desktops
2. Walk Through Desktop List
(At least on my machine both produce exactly the same result...what's up with that?)

That is exactly my problem. With Gentoo I saw the list jucato displayed, with Kubuntu "Walk Through Desktop List" does not show that list.

@Jucato: Which version of Kubuntu/KDE are you using?

Okay, strange thing. I tried to assign "Walk Through Desktop List" not to Win+Tab but to Ctrl+Tab, and then I see the list. Should I report that as a Kubuntu-Bug?

I'm using KDE 3.5.2
Try checking in http://bugs.kde.org if there's a bug report on it already. However, I haven't been able to reproduce the problem.
Did you try switching it back to Win+Tab? Could it be possible that it's conflicting with another command/application that uses the same keyboard shortcut?
