ati drivers seem they wont let my pc turn off..

hi
everything was going fine on my kubuntu installation. i decided to install the(sucky) ati driver. so after doing everything correctly i was happy, until i found out that my system wouldn't turn off anymore. the only way is to run sudo init 0. my friend has the exact same problem......can someone help? huge thanks!

I have a problem like this as well. The problem isn't with shutting down though, it's with standby/hibernation, I get an atixp: codec reset timeout error.
