    Ktorrent still crashing

I recently installed Kubuntu 6.06 and the first time I ran Ktorrent everything was fine.  The next time I ran it it crashed.  Now I cant get it to run even if I reinstall it.  I read through the forum and I found a suggestion.  I deleted the ktorrent directory in ~/.kde/share/apps/ but that didnt work.  I ran the debugger and this is what it gave me:

    (no debugging symbols found)
    Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/i686/cmov/libthread_db.so.1".
(no debugging symbols found)                   this line repeated many times

    Re: Ktorrent still crashing

I've given up on Ktorrent first in Breezy and again in Dapper. I also had constant crash problems as well as Ktorrent refusing to accept torrents that consisted of too many files. It was a rare occasion that I could actually complete a torrent that was over 100 megs...really frustrating, especially since other torrent programs I then ran to never gave me any issues. Ktorrent just seems cranky.

Currently, I use Azureus. It isn't in the repos, but is currently a pretty good program IMHO, if you're into a lot of customizing and want a good selection of plugins. For basic, no frills reliability, I had solid luck with Qtorrent, which is in the repositories.

davebgimp, thanks for the advice. I'll give that Qtorrent a try, or even Azureus.

      Cheers,
