OK. I've been using Kubuntu for almost a year now ... Started with Hoary, then upgraded (using apt-get) to Breezy and am now running Dapper, again via apt-get (Flight 6 but I'm constantly updating/upgrading so it stays current).
But through all of this, my 'start' menu has become quite messy and filled with a lot of programs I don't use. I know how to manually remove entries -- either just the menu item itself or the whole program using apt-get remove (or adept) but I'm hoping someone out there has come up with a more clever and quick way to do this.
Awhile back, I found a post related to this subject over on the Ubuntu forums:

Post #4 by jamboarder describes a way to do it but it's kind of labor intensive and I'm lazy. Well, if that's the only way to do it, then so be it.
Any and all help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks!
