    root password

Hi, I have a problem using the administrative password:
At console the su password is accepted. but within the KDE, while system settings or updating, when asked to use the administrative mode the same root password is not valid: "Conversation with su failed" appears. What can I do?

    thank you

    Re: root password

use "sudo" instead of "su", as Kubuntu uses sudo instead of a root password. So you would be using the user password you set up during the install
