Disappearing contact lists in Kontact

This has happened for the third time in the office all with different users. User opens contacts and poof there gone. Done some looking into this issue and as of yet found nothing. Anyone here have this problem, or have any ideas?

First, I'd advise against the wisdom of using Dapper Drake as your desktop in an office environment; best to use Breezy instead, which is stable.

Double check to make sure that Kontact is pointing to the right resource file (should be ~/.kde/share/apps/something-like-kontact/std.ics), and that the resource file actually exists. If it's not there, it may exist in a backup somewhere, so you should be able to restore it.

This is a known bug in KDE 3.5.1 and 3.5.2. I believe that the kdelib package in 3.5.1 has been fixed and that the bug has been resolved. But Dapper uses 3.5.2, I think, and I don't think the bug is fixed in that iteration.
