I want to change some System Settings; I need Administrator privileges to do this; the Sys asks for a password; what password? How, where and when was I supposed to set this password? Note: I am not a linux noobie, I have been using various linux versions since 1997 but this is the first Distro I have tried that will not let me reset even the Display specs!! What gives? What am I missing?

Re: Getting Root privilages
You only need your normal user password, the one you use to login. For information on this topic checkout https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RootSudo/

Re: Getting Root privilages
If you just want to adjust your display preferences, you shouldn't need root privileges.
If you're trying to adjust the display settings, you can't do that through System Settings (as far as I know). The only way I know to do this in Kubuntu is by doingCode:sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
