    gksudo

    hi all,
I jus managed to install Dapper Drake on my laptop took me a while, but I finally got installed. I am having problems now with the gksudo password. I was wondering if it is the same as a my Root password. I am not too too sure why I am getting this now. Can someone explain to me. Thank you

    hi nikki

short answer: most likely it is your user password.

      Re: gksudo

It's kdesu in KDE. gksudo is a Gnome thing.

      For example, instead of
      Code:
      gksudo nautilus
      , you'd use
      Code:
      kdesu konqueror

yes, it's kdesu in Kubuntu. The password is your user password, not the root one.
