Problem with codec

I installed Kubuntu 6.04 Alpha 3. Everything works fine except the video. I thought w32codecs have еverything necessary for playing video and I installed it. But it still gives me an error. There is no Xvid codec in the installed codecs. Can anyone help me?

Keep in mind that this release is not for actual use, it is just for testing/finding/reporting bugs

Having said that, have you looked for xvid in the software installer ? You could be missing

avifile-xvid-plugin
gstreamer0.8-xvid

Etc.
