Kmail. addresses

When I click on the "new message" button there appears a"select" button that, when clicked, brings up "recent recipients" (email addresses)
I am completely unable to edit these entries, nor can I drag them to the address book.
The "Help" section is not helpful.
I have recently messed up these "recent recipients" and would really like to correct my error.
I would also like to know if there is a tutorial on using the address book as I am unable to understand the terms used and/or how to use it.

I went to that site and clicked on
Tools->Addressbook...

Opens up KAddressBook.

Nothing happened.
Thinking that perhaps it was my Opera browser I switched to Konqueror
same result

Do you have Kontact installed? I think you need that before the address book will work, could be wrong.
