copying Knotes to cd with K3B

    copying Knotes to cd with K3B

    How do I find the file in order to drag and drop it to the K3B program?
    It is in .kde/share/apps/
    but how do I access it with the GUI?
    or
    is there a tutorial showing how to use the CLI and K3B to copy all home files, plus mail and Knotes?

    Put .kde/share/apps/ in the "URL" line
    or
    Use Konqueror/Dolphin and drag and drop folder/file from the Konqueror/Dolphin window to the K3b window.
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

      Thanks for the quick response
      however
      I put " .kde/share/apps/" (without the quotation marks) in the "URL" line and got

      An error occurred while loading locate:.kde/share/apps/:
      The file or folder does not exist.

      (I used "find" to locate the Knotes file). You also suggest ".. drop folder/file from the Konqueror/Dolphin window ."
      But I cant see any Knotes file.
      I am not looking for just one Knote; but wish to copy ALL my Knotes.

      (It has just occurred to me that Knotes may be specific to the browser that I use (Opera) and that the file is not accesible to Konqueror(although it did find the file)(I think it was Konqueror that "find" uses)

        What Rog131 forgot to include in his post, was that you need to paste the location to the end of your home folder location. Here is what mine looks like with the addition:

        /home/paul/.kde/share/apps/

        My home directory is /home/paul

        So, you need to paste the following to yours (including the leading / :

        /.kde/share/apps/

        You will then simply click on the knotes folder. The file that contains your knotes data is the notes.ics file. Keep in mind, this file contains formating information for the individual knotes that you would see when running knotes.
        Windows no longer obstructs my view.

          That brought up a page with 3 icons
          knotes
          knotes ics
          knotes ics~ (called backup. a green icon)
          This last one was the only one (of three) that gave me the notes, WITH, as you pointed out, the formating instructions.
          NOT easy to read.
          (Knotes ics seems to be a "calendar" program)
          And plain Knotes has icons for each note but nothing in the individual files.
          Is there any way of getting my Knotes copied to some file which I could then copy to a cd without any formating instructions?
          (same for my emails)

              I went to the KDE forum and saw that one person in 2005 claimed it was broken in some way:

              I am afraid you are out of luck because, at least as of now, Knotes is horribly broken. Do not try and save important information in Knotes because, based on my expereince, you will probably experience data loss. Based on my research in the matter knotes will not sync with
