Missing icons in system tray when using translucency.

    Hi all.

Yesterday I enabled translucency through Xgl. Everything works fine, with the exception that my battery monitor (I'm using a laptop) and my keyboard configuration icons no longer appear in my system tray.

I've checked system settings, and both are still configured. I can't figure out how to add the icons though, since the standard way, right clicking then adding, only allows me to add the system settings icon, but not individual components of system settings.

I've been using Linux for almost a year now, but since I mostly use my computer to write school papers and surf the net, I haven't done much exploring or experimenting, and am not exactly a Linux pro. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

If you disable transparency, do the 'missing' icons reappear?

Not immediately, but they reapear when I disable then reboot without translucency.
