not able to turn on wireless in kubuntu

Hi Everyone,

I had installed kubuntu 7.04 on my laptop and I'm having trouble getting
my wireless to work
It has following specifications

* *Brand Name of Device*: Edge Laptop
* * Name/Number of Device Network Controller:* Intel Corporation
PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
* * The Manufacturer/Device Id : *Intel Corporation Unknown Device 2522

The wireless light on the laptop is on but I am not able to get an
access to network applications.what happens is when I tried to scan network through wireless assistant a pop up window comes that says

Radio of your wireless card is off
Would you like to turn it on
yes No

I clicked on yes
It say no networks found
and still I am not able to get into network.
and I have compaq laptop. I had installed kubuntu 7.04 on it.
Following are the specifications of this laptop

* *Brand Name of Device: *Compaq Presario C555NR Notebook PC
* *Name/Number of Device Network Controller:* Broadcom Corporation
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-PCI Card
* *The Manufacturer/Device Id *: Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company
Unknown Device 1363

The problem I am facing with this laptop is the wireless light is not
enabled. Please suggest to rectify the above problems
