Re: how to install nvidia driver?
Sure.
There's an awful lot posted about it already -- you might want to search on your card and see if you find an example.
Personally, I've been using Envy of late, and it seems to work for 90+% of folks. It is available for download here: http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
You want the file "envy_0.9.6-0ubuntu2_all.deb" about halfway down the page. Download it to your Desktop, right-click on the file, choose "Kubuntu Package Menu > Install" and it will be installed. The Envy icon will appear in your Kmenu>System folder, and you can click it to run the installer. If you have trouble, post again and we'll see if we can help.

Just choose the appropriate driver, and follow the instructions.

Re: how to install nvidia driver?
I have no problem repeating what has already been said before, as there are sooo many ways to install the Nvidia drivers.
I recommend using the Ubuntu packages as they are easiest to install.
this link is what I use for a starting point. (there were kubuntu-specific instructions somewhere, but I can't remember where they are)
First, as I assume you are on Dapper, you will need to enable Universe and multiverse repositories, then basically follow the 'Install and activate drivers' sections in the first link.
Now, often you may still have to do some xorg.conf tweaking, but for the most part it should be good to go. (None of the installer scripts like Envy or Automatix do this) Searching on your particular video card may also yield some useful info on that, if necessary.

Re: how to install nvidia driver?
When you have downloaded the driver, you will have an install file named something like:
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9631-pkg1.run
Then reboot, but this time boot into recovery mode, which will give you simply a text screen and a command line. You can now run the driver install file, but you need to do this in root mode, so type the command:
Code:sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9631-pkg1.run

Re: how to install nvidia driver?
It seems I don't have much luck today. I am use kernel 2.6.15-26-386
* No precompiled kernel interface was found
* Cannot connect to internet yet
* the installer will need to compile a kernel interface, but I assume I didn't have
files : 'kernel-source' or 'kernel-devel' RPM in my kubuntu disk

Re: how to install nvidia driver?
I think envy is an easy way, but
* I don't have internet for now, since I still can not configure it.
* It needs python, etc... which I don't have for now, unless it is in the cd.... or I need to download them...............
say thx in the hell.

Well, you are indeed in Hell, I hope for only a little while.
EDIT: If your Internet problem is just the lack of a GUI, try this: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3085112.0
