Please do not use the CODE tag when pasting content that contains formatting (colored, bold, underline, italic, etc) Use the QUOTE tag instead.
The CODE tag displays all content as plain text, including the formatting tags, making it difficult to read.
The splash screen is less reliable as it can be changed, and the default KDE splash screen only says "KDE 3.5", not taking into account the minor number (3.5.x).
There are two (ok three) ways to get the KDE version:
1. What Detonate said: In any KDE program, Help menu -> About KDE.
2. In the command line:
Code:
kde-config --version
3. In KControl's "front" page, but you have to launch KControl by pressing Alt+F2 and typing "kcontrol".
